Examiner Information Page

Check your C of E for currency

PPL(A) or JAR-FCL PPL SEP(land)

After Qualification (or revalidation)your licence will remain current for two years. You can fly as many or as few hours as you wish in the first year (in theory you do not have to fly any if that is what you want), but in the second year you must fly at least 12 hours of which 6 hours must be P1 which must include 12 take-offs and landings, so remember to log them. You must also have flown for one hour minimum with an instructor (two half hours do not count), and very importantly you must get the C of E signed by an examiner BEFORE expiry which once all the requirements are met can be done ANY TIME during that second year without loss of time (i.e. forward dated), failure to be signed up in time (even 1 day) will require you to sit an LPC (licence proficiency check) with an examiner in order to be revalidated for a further 2 years.

NPPL

To maintain your new NPPL you require to fly no less than six hours in the aeroplane (SEP) class rating, at least four hours to be flown as pilot in command and to have flown at least one hour with an instructor within the previous 24 months. Alternatively within the three months preceding the expiory of the rating have undertaken a NPPL General Skills Test.

ANY LICENCE

REMEMBER: To carry passengers, you must have carried out in the precedings 90 days, 3 take-offs and 3 landings as pilot in command (P1) on type. This can be with an instructor as long as the instructor does not influence the controls (i.e. a dual check out).

REMEMBER --- Failure to ensure that ALL paperwork is correct will prevent and exclude you from flying untill such time that any deficiency is rectified, SO PLEASE CHECK.

When is your medical valid to?

Check this important document as it is sometimes overlooked and forms an important part of your licence

Have you flown in the last 6 weeks?

Club currency must be adhered to for insurance purposes, if you have lapsed then remember to ask for a dual check (perhaps 2 or 3 circuits maybe all that's required) when booking your next trip.

Have you signed the flying order book?

Remember that the Flying Order Book is a legal document and MUST be signed every 6 months if flying as a student solo (or PPL of course ), also check for any amendments that may have been made since you last flew.
