Step 3. Instrument Rating (IR) T: 01382 644372
The aim of the course is to train CPL or
PPL holders to obtain the JAR Instrument Rating in a multi engine
aircraft.
Criteria:
- Hold a current Aeroplane Licence, either PPL or CPL
- Have met the Night qualification requirements
- Have met the Theoretical Knowledge requirements
- Current JAR Medical Certificate - (Class 1 for CPL, Class 1 or 2 for PPL)
- Total 50 hours PIC (Pilot in Command)
The IR course content consists of:
50 hours if CPL held:
- 20 hours flying instruction on Piper Seneca
- 30 hours simulator instruction on (Alsim FNPT 2) Simulator
55 hours if PPL held:
- 20 hours flying instruction on Piper Seneca
- 35 hours simulator instruction on (Alsim FNTP 2) Simulator
Course Duration:
- Approx. 5 weeks dependent upon weather
The IR full course is offered at:
- £10800 (Following CPL)
- £11500 (Prior to CPL)
Note: the amount of simulator time can be varied as can the aircraft time and this will affect the overall course cost.
